Using the Search Engines

myredpages search engines were designed to allow our users to make detailed, comprehensive searches of our databases. The search forms give you the power to extract the information you need quickly and efficiently, without having to read through dozens of irrelevant reviews.

If you want to see all reviews contained within the database leave all search fields blank and click on search. Each field you select in the search form further narrows the search results.

The Consensus Review vs. the Individual Review

The true power of this site lies in our ability to gather a provider's individual reviews together to form a statistically accurate "consensus review". In a site such as this, it is virtually impossible to verify the accuracy of an individual review. It is only natural that some reviews will be accurate and some will not. However, it is our goal to provide you with a variety of sources, so that a consensus may be formed, and hopefully, the truth will emerge. Each hobbyist has a responsibility to our community to broaden the consensus by participating in the review process. In this way, the board will stay as accurate as possible.

How is the consensus formed?

Each provider in our database has one or more individual reviews associated with them. An individual review is a description of a single encounter with the provider, submitted by one of our users. When a provider has more than one review, their individual reviews are combined to form that provider's consensus review. Statistically speaking, the consensus review is a weighted average of the provider's last 10 individual reviews. Recent reviews weigh more heavily than older ones, and the higher the user's credibility rating, the more weight his review receives. The purpose of the consensus is to average out the inconsistencies found in the individual reviews and provide our readers with the most probable scenario, in terms of what to expect with a provider. When searching reviews, users have the option of searching all data, or limiting their searches to the consensus data only.

Credibility Rating System

All users are assigned a credibility rating based on quantity and quality of the reviews they submit. When you sign up for a user account you are automatically given a credibility of 5, which is average. There are no hard and fast rules for adjusting a user's credibility rating. It is left to myredpages administration to decide what a user's credibility should be at any given time. A credibility rating of 10 (the maximum) would be given to a user who has had a long standing relationship with myredpages and is known for the quality and reliability of their reviews. A rating less than 5 would indicate that a user has submitted poor or bogus reviews that have been rejected.

Here is a breakdown of the Credibility Rating system. (It's not set in stone.)

2-3 Quality Reviews: 6
4-6 Quality Reviews: 7
7-15 Quality Reviews: 8
16-30 Quality Reviews: 9
31+ Quality Reviews: 10

Using the mini-wikis

Wiki allows users to create and edit web content in an open, democratic fashion. At myredpages, we believe that this powerful, flexible approach to web content fits in well with the idea of an information exchange. Wiki is a living, breathing 'work in progress', encouraging users to participate and express themselves creatively. Users may create their own pages, complete with graphic layouts and pictures, or they may enhance the content of existing pages. The only things that are expressly forbidden are vandalism, and using the wikis to promote yourself or a product. Remember, that while content can be overwritten, it cannot be deleted, so that any content may be restored, at a later time, from the pages history.

At myredpages, we call them mini-wikis because they are embedded within various parts of the site, such as the Exotic Dancer and Escort Reviews, and are intended to focus on a single topic. If you see any features that are missing from our wikis that you would like us to add, please let us know.

Technical Note: The strip club section has a separate mini-wiki for each city. This means that pages you create in one city will not be visible in another. The escort mini-wiki (which you enter from each provider's talk page), on the other hand, spans all cities.

Preferred Providers

myredpages encourages all providers to become Preferred Providers. Preferred Providers are those who offer discounts to myredpages members (5% minimum), using our private mailing system to arrange appointments. This can be a great way for a provider to pick up some additional business and also to establish good relations with customers. When a provider enters into this program, their Preferred Provider status will be clearly marked in their reviews.

Reporting Problems with Reviews

If you find any outdated links or inaccurate information in the review section, click on 'Report bad data, broken links' at the top of the review page. In the rapidly changing landscape of adult services, we need your help in keeping our information up to date and accurate. Each time you correctly identify a problem with a review, your username goes into a pool of users from which a drawing is held. The first 10 users selected from the drawing (held monthly) win free 30 day memberships. The more problems you report the more times your name is entered, increasing your chances of being selected.

Advertisers

myredpages offers a free link exchange program, and extremely reasonably advertising rates. For more information check out the Advertise with Us section.
